Creating Your Law Firm Marketing Plan Outline

How was the end of 2013 for you? Was it an amazing end of year, or did it merely slowly peter out, leaving you glad to start the next one as quickly as possible?

I know that a lot of people find this time of year exciting because they can make plans to really push their practice forward. They are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and believe that this is the year that they will really see the change they are looking for in their business.

Is this you?

If it is, what are you going to do differently this year than last year to ensure that the promise you made to yourself is fulfilled?

The first thing to do is to look at all that you did last year and assess what worked and what didn’t. If something really didn’t work well for you, you need to assess whether it can be improved and if so put in place plans to improve it. If it has reached the end of the line, it might be time to let it go.

The crucial next question is “What will you replace it with?”

If last year was just satisfactory in terms of growing your practice, to reach the next level this year you are clearly going to need to do more; probably quite a lot more. What will it be?

What is your plan going to be this year to ensure that this takes place? Which steps will you take to dramatically improve the position you find yourself in now to arrive at the opening statement for you: “End this year on a high”?

If you would like some help putting together a marketing plan to achieve your objectives, I can do this. I offer a fixed fee marketing plan service, with or without follow up support. The good news is that thanks to technology you don’t even need to leave your office to obtain this marketing plan for your practice. You and I will have a 60-90 minute telephone conference after which I will go away and prepare your one page marketing plan (two if I really have to, but I like to keep it short and succinct so you can print it off and keep it by your desk – this way it has a much better chance of being actioned and thereby producing the results you are looking for).

Law Firm Marketing

Case Study

Now I’ve got eight staff and two offices, and we’ve never been busier.

I’ve been working with Nick for the last six years, and in that time he’s had a significant impact on my business.

We first start working together when I worked at an employment law practice, and when I left there to set up on my own, Nick was one of the first people I called.

I knew that one of the key pieces to get right was the website – in this day and age it’s impossible to run a successful firm without one – and with Nick’s advice, help and guidance, we created our own marketing-focused site that has proven to be the backbone of all the sales and marketing that has followed.

But a good website means nothing unless people see it, and that’s why we turned to Nick to run our Google Adwords, which quickly became a primary source of leads.

In addition to running the traffic, Nick held our hand through every element of the client attraction process, from how to communicate with leads, to how to close sales, and the impact that had on our business cannot be understated.

And that’s why I will always recommend Nick to anyone who needs help with marketing – particularly legal firms: his breadth of knowledge about everything to do with sales and marketing means that he can (and does) help with every part of the picture, resulting in a stronger business than you could have imagined.

Since we’ve been working with Nick, we’ve grown quickly – back in 2013 it was just myself and my wife, and she was part-time.

Now I’ve got eight staff and two offices, and we’ve never been busier.

And if our lead numbers are anything to go by, it’s only going to get better – 2015-2016 saw us get 800 good quality leads in employment law, and that figure more than doubled last year. I can only look forward to more exciting times, working hand-in-hand with Nick to grow my practice and enjoy the fruits that come with that growth.
