The Complete Guide To Social Media Marketing For Solicitors

The Complete Guide To Social Media Marketing For SolicitorsShould you or shouldn’t you use Social Media Marketing to promote your legal services? If you should, which platforms of social media marketing work best for solicitors? Should you invest in paid social media marketing or just use the free options? The Complete Guide To Social Media Marketing For Solicitors will explain all for you.

It is difficult to know what to do, isn’t it? With some people shouting that facebook advertising is the key, others telling you it is all about LinkedIn and then the twitter fans telling you that that is where you should be spending your time, it is difficult to know whose advice to follow, isn’t it?

Let me start by saying that I have nothing to sell you when it comes to social media marketing. I do not want you to invest in my amazing social media marketing course. I simply look at social media marketing from a ‘does it work and will it give solicitors a return on investment’ angle.

I have one rule when it comes to marketing legal services:

Whatever method of marketing that you use, it has to generate new clients and it must be easy to measure its’ performance.

Marketing for solicitors

What are the best forms of marketing for solicitors?

How can solicitors set up marketing just the once but then have new clients delivered to them time and time again?

I have been carrying out marketing for solicitors both from inside of a law firm when I was a practising solicitor, and now since 2003 running my law firm marketing consultancy for solicitors. Let me help you to show you what works and what does not.

The best forms of marketing for solicitors

Not all forms of marketing are created equal. Some marketing methods are far more successful for solicitors than others. Nothing frustrates me more than a solicitor who comes to me having just spent a small fortune on facebook advertising that would never produce new clients for them. Alternatively, they come to me having spent thousands of pounds on a legal website that will never turn a visitor into a client.

Some methods of marketing will be far more successful for a law firm than others.

Here are some of the best methods.

  • The right Legal Website Design. When I say ‘right’, this part is so very important. It must be designed in such a way that it is easy for your clients to navigate, but also it must have enough of the right content and the essential ‘trust building elements’ required to make it bring new clients to you.
  • A consistent email marketing newsletter. If you read that and think ‘too much like hard work, Nick’,
please believe me; it isn’t. When you follow my email marketing template for success, it is a relatively straightforward process. I can even do it for you, but that part is optional. I can show you exactly what to do and how to do it.
  • A proper, grown up, sensible referral system to generate more referrals from clients and your referral partners.
  • PPC for law firms. Once you have a good legal website, send more people to it who are actively seeking your services right now. This is Google Ads and ALL of my most successful clients use it. They do say that ‘success leaves clues’, so should you be using it too?

Having implemented a raft of improvements to our website and marketing campaigns suggested in Nick’s excellent books, I decided to contact the man himself for a one-to-one discussion.

The thirty minutes spent with Nick on that video call provided me with more business improvement tools than I could’ve hoped for. Nick even took the time to give me some insights on client conversion particular to our area of practice.

Online reviews are often brimming with trite phrases and hyperbole, but I cannot find any other way of saying that my only regret is that I didn’t contact Samson Consulting sooner.

Chris Rennie

Nick takes a no-nonsense approach, cuts the fluff and gets straight to the point – which is an approach that you see very little nowadays in the world of marketing where you have many gurus with complex approach that most probably never work. I look forward to working with Nick.

Chris Thomas

As usual with Nick he was super informative and helpful and gave me some very good tips for me to go forward with. He exudes positivity and makes dealing with him a pleasure. Also gave me a steer in helping two other contacts I have who may be able to use his services

Nick is a fountain of knowledge, tried and tested personally. He has that rare gift of not making you feel daft for asking any question. After our consultation I felt far less like a rabbit in the headlights and far more empowered to climb the marketing mountain successfully.
